Who I Help & What I Teach
I tutor middle school, high school, and college students in Math, Physics, and Computer Science. Most of my students are aiming to build confidence, keep up with class, or push ahead in challenging courses.
I also bring experience working with gifted, anxious, and neurodivergent learners who may need extra patience, clear structure, or different scaffolding. Every student deserves explanations that make sense and support that helps them thrive.
How I Teach
I believe every student can succeed in math with the right support. My role is to be patient, honest, and kind, never judgmental. I create an atmosphere where mistakes are part of learning, not something to feel ashamed of.
I focus on deepening understanding, not just memorizing steps. Students learn why methods work, not only how to apply them, so they can approach new problems with confidence.
When students work with me, they do not just get answers. They build lasting skills and a belief in their own ability.
What a Session Feels Like
A session with me is steady, focused, and encouraging. We set a clear goal, work through problems step by step, and take the time to make sure concepts truly make sense.
Students are free to ask questions, make mistakes, and try again without fear of being judged. By the end, they walk away with new understanding, more confidence, and a clear next step to keep them moving forward.
Credentials & Experience
I bring 13 years of experience as both a classroom teacher and a private tutor. I have worked with students from middle school through college, helping them strengthen fundamentals, tackle advanced coursework, and build lasting confidence in their abilities.
I hold an MS in Data Science, an MS in Mathematics, and a BA in Physics and Math with Honors. My academic background gives me the depth to explain challenging material clearly and in ways that connect with each student.
Access & Options
I offer tutoring both online and in person, with a strong preference for meeting face to face whenever possible. In-person sessions allow for stronger connection, clearer communication, and more natural collaboration.
Students can choose one-on-one tutoring for personalized attention or join small group sessions. Group options are especially valuable for college students who want to share costs and benefit from working through material alongside peers.
I work with students in Beaverton and the greater Portland area, as well as online when distance makes that the best option.
Ethics & Boundaries
My role as a tutor is to support students in the classes they are already enrolled in. I do not create assignments or complete graded work on their behalf. Instead, I focus on helping them understand the material, strengthen their own skills, and approach their coursework with confidence and independence.
If a student is not currently enrolled in a class but wants to learn new material, I recommend using high-quality open resources such as Khan Academy or free courseware from universities like MIT. I can then provide tutoring and guidance as they work through that content. If you would like recommendations about which free courseware may be best for your student, I am happy to make that recommendation.
